Find an emissions testing station
Choose a county, then narrow by city or ZIP code. The list holds 132 business listings in the 18 program counties whose map listing names inspections or emissions testing (seen Oct 7, 2026). The official list of certified stations is the DPS inspection station locator.
These are businesses whose public map listing (Apple Maps or Yelp data, found through DuckDuckGo) names inspections, emissions testing or smog checks. A listing is not proof that the business is certified by the Texas Department of Public Safety, and the list is not complete: confirm with the station or the DPS inspection station locator before you go.

Who can test your vehicle
Private businesses certified by DPS do the test. TxDMV and TCEQ describe them this way:
Many mechanic shops, oil change locations and service stations are certified by DPS as inspection stations.
Testing Network: All inspection stations are required to offer OBD inspections.
the Texas Information Management System (TIMS) database identified 4,675 active vehicle emissions inspection stations (excluding fleet and government stations) in the four active program areas
