Where to get a state inspection in Frisco
1 listing with a Frisco address, grouped by ZIP code. Our list for Frisco is short so far. The Collin County page lists the rest of the county, and the official list of certified stations is the DPS inspection station locator.
DPS-listed means DPS showed the station for OBD (emissions) inspections on an archived locator page of the date given; the other rows are map listings that name inspections. Neither proves certification today, and the list is not complete: call the station or check the DPS locator first.

The rules for Frisco vehicles
What Frisco drivers call the state inspection is now only this emissions test: the safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles ended on January 1, 20256. The test is an on-board diagnostics (OBD) check for gasoline vehicles from their second anniversary through 24 years old7; electric vehicles, diesels, motorcycles and mopeds are not tested8. After a failed test, the same station re-tests for free within 15 days9. Denton County is in the same program area with the same fee cap. Fees at registration, waivers and exemptions are on the Collin County page.

Frisco questions
Do Frisco drivers still need a state inspection?
Only an emissions test: a Frisco vehicle registered in Collin County or Denton County that runs on gasoline and is 2 to 24 years old needs a pass before each registration renewal. There is no safety inspection for non-commercial vehicles any more.1,6
What does the test cost in Frisco, and what is paid with the registration?
A Frisco station may charge at most $18.50 for the OBD test. The state’s $2.75 share and, for most non-commercial vehicles, the $7.50 inspection program replacement fee are not paid at the station: they come with the registration renewal.2,10,11
